How ESG by ZYT works

Is the quick footprint a real carbon footprint, or a marketing gimmick?

It is a real calculation and a deliberately narrow one. It uses the same factor registry and the same engine as the full inventory, so the arithmetic is identical — but it asks three to five questions, so its boundary is narrow and it says so on the face of the PDF. It is a screening estimate, not an inventory.

What it is good for: answering a customer who has asked for a number, quickly, with a stated boundary and named factors. That covers a large share of the procurement requests an SME actually receives.

What it is not good for: a published sustainability report, a reduction target, or any claim of completeness. It covers the activities it asked about and excludes the rest explicitly, and the exclusions are printed rather than hidden.

The questions asked depend on your country and sector, and so do the exclusions. A Malaysian business is not asked about waste at all, because there is no Malaysian waste factor in the registry and the software will not substitute Singapore’s incineration model for landfill.
